On Thursday 28th February Foundation children were invited back to school for bedtime story as part of our celebrations for World Book Day and Siawns i Siarad week.

While the children are listening to the stories, parents had an interactive opportunity to view and trial the latest digital reading materials alongside the traditional resources available to motivate and engage young readers. The event was well attended with over 80 children being read stories to by Mr Cousins, Mr Starkey and Mr Williams. Mrs Starkey led the parent workshop and stated that, ‘The event was a great success in highlighting the continued importance of reading as part of learning and of the need to embrace technology in preparation for a successful 21st Century life’.

The 65 parents who attended were able to benefit from top tips and helpful hints from teaching staff and Kevin Bowen from Carmarthen Library Service.
